Virginia Beach revenue leaks in predictable places, and Qualigenix assigns each one to a named step. Cardinal Care eligibility moves between five plans and, from 2027, gets reviewed more often for expansion adults. Authorization rules differ for D-SNPs, TRICARE and commercial carriers. Medicare claims go to Palmetto GBA. Commercial carriers, including Sentara Health Plans, which is headquartered in Virginia Beach, owe payment on clean claims within 40 days. Statewide rules are covered on our RCM services in Virginia page. This page covers how Qualigenix runs the cycle for Virginia Beach patients.
Qualigenix revenue cycle management connects eight services for Virginia Beach practices: insurance verification, prior authorization, coding, billing, payment posting, denial management, A/R recovery and credentialing.
One team handles each patient account from the first eligibility check to the final payment, for all payers. The work runs inside your EHR, and pricing is a percentage of collections.
Most Cardinal Care revenue problems in Virginia Beach start before the visit. Qualigenix checks plan assignment, renewal timing and authorization needs first, then routes the claim.
A Cardinal Care member can be in any of five statewide plans (Aetna Better Health of Virginia, Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, Humana Healthy Horizons in Virginia, Sentara Health Plans or UnitedHealthcare) or in fee-for-service. DMAS lets providers check through its automated response system, the MediCall phone line or 270/271 eligibility transactions, and Qualigenix runs that check before each appointment, not only at intake. D-SNP members need a second look. Virginia's exclusively aligned enrollment means their D-SNP company also handles their Medicaid benefits, so both parts of the claim go there. A plan mismatch caught before the visit costs a phone call. Caught after, it costs a denial and a resubmission.
Starting in January 2027, Virginia reviews eligibility for Medicaid expansion adults every six months instead of every 12. New expansion members found eligible from January 2027 get six-month periods, and current members move to them at their first renewal in 2027. Pregnant members and some other groups stay on their current schedule. More renewals mean more mid-year coverage gaps, so Qualigenix flags expansion-adult patients with a renewal coming due and rechecks coverage on the day of service.
Prompt-pay timelines, balance-billing protections and PRSS enrollment apply across Virginia. Our page on Virginia revenue cycle rules covers how Qualigenix handles them statewide.
Under CMS rules in effect since 2026, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid managed care plans and D-SNPs must decide prior authorization requests within 72 hours for urgent requests and 7 calendar days for standard ones. From January 1, 2027, Virginia writes the same 72-hour and 7-day limits into state-regulated commercial provider contracts. Carriers must also post one public list of services and codes that need authorization, give 30 days' notice of changes, and can't deny a claim for missing authorization when the requirement wasn't posted for that date of service. Qualigenix tracks each request to its deadline and keeps a copy of each payer's posted list. Medicare Part B claims go to Palmetto GBA, TRICARE East claims go to PGBA within one year, and Qualigenix follows up on any commercial clean claim still unpaid at Virginia's 40-day mark.
