Qualigenix RCM for Michigan practices connects eight services: insurance verification and benefits, prior authorizations, medical coding, medical billing, payment posting, denial management, A/R recovery and credentialing. We work every payer, including MDHHS Medicaid, the Healthy Michigan Plan, the Medicaid Health Plans, Medicare through WPS and commercial plans. Pricing is a percentage of collections.
Qualigenix revenue cycle management services treat a Michigan patient account as one line from scheduling to zero balance. Most revenue loss we find starts at the front end, with a missed eligibility check or authorization, and shows up weeks later as a denial or a balance nobody can collect. Michigan practices juggle MDHHS fee-for-service Medicaid, nine Medicaid Health Plans assigned by Prosperity Region, Medicare Advantage, traditional Medicare and commercial plans under DIFS rules. In 2026 Michigan also started MI Coordinated Health, a new integrated Medicare-Medicaid plan for dual-eligible patients in select counties, with statewide expansion planned for 2027. We track each payer's rules in one workflow.
The front end gets harder in 2027. From January 1, 2027, most Healthy Michigan Plan members move to six-month renewals, and some adults 19 to 64 must meet new work requirements. MDHHS reviews current members for those requirements at renewals starting March 1, 2027. A patient covered at one visit can be uncovered at the next, so Qualigenix checks eligibility before every Medicaid visit and flags patients with upcoming renewal dates for your front desk. If your billing already runs well and you only need claims work, medical billing services in Michigan cover that part on its own.
Michigan revenue leaks in four places: eligibility and authorization before the visit, filing windows after it, payment timing, and patient balances. Qualigenix sets a control at each point.
Michigan's prior authorization law gives state-regulated commercial insurers 7 calendar days for standard requests and 72 hours for urgent ones, and requires electronic submission. Approved authorizations stay valid for at least 60 days or as long as clinically appropriate. Qualigenix verifies coverage, submits authorizations electronically and tracks each one to its deadline, so visits aren't scheduled on a missing approval. Our prior authorization team handles the payer paperwork.
MDHHS expects Medicaid fee-for-service claims within 12 months of the date of service. DIFS-regulated commercial plans require billing within one year for a claim to be clean, and many contracts set shorter limits. Medicare claims through WPS are due within 12 months. Qualigenix logs every claim by date of service and payer deadline and works the closest deadlines first.
DIFS-regulated health plans must pay a clean claim within 45 days or add 12% simple annual interest, and they have 30 days to tell you why a claim isn't clean. Qualigenix answers defect notices quickly, posts every payment against your contract rate, and flags clean claims past day 45 for interest and follow-up through AR recovery.
Michigan's surprise billing law limits what out-of-network providers can bill patients of DIFS-regulated plans for emergency care and certain care at in-network facilities to in-network cost sharing. Self-funded employer plans fall under the federal No Surprises Act. Qualigenix confirms network status and plan type before statements go out, and collects patient balances with clear estimates.
These figures are company-wide results across Qualigenix client practices, not Michigan-only numbers.
