Springfield is in Hampden County, where most MassHealth members get care through a plan tied to their primary care provider. A single practice can bill five or six MassHealth plans in one day, plus Medicare and commercial plans such as Health New England. Each plan has its own payer ID, claims address and edits, so a claim sent to the wrong one comes back unpaid. Qualigenix sets up payer-specific routing for every plan your patients carry and rechecks plan assignment at each visit. We work with independent practices, solo physicians and multi-provider groups across 38+ specialties. Statewide rules, such as MassHealth's waiver process, are covered on our Massachusetts medical billing services page. This page covers what changes for Springfield and Hampden County.
Qualigenix medical billing services cover the full claim cycle for Springfield practices: eligibility checks, charge review, claim scrubbing, submission, payment posting, denial appeals and A/R follow-up. We bill every payer, including the MassHealth
plans in Springfield's service area, Medicare, One Care and Senior Care Options plans, and commercial insurers.
MassHealth's 2026 plan list for the Springfield service area includes three Accountable Care Partnership Plans, two Primary Care ACOs, one managed care organization and the PCC Plan. The plan on the member's record decides where the claim goes, so Qualigenix confirms it before billing.
The BeHealthy Partnership Plan joins Baystate Health Care Alliance with Health New England. Health New England is the plan's managed care partner, so BeHealthy claims, payment questions and appeals go to Health New England. WellSense Community Alliance and WellSense Mercy Alliance, built with Mercy Medical Center, are WellSense Health Plan products, and their claims go to WellSense. The WellSense Essential MCO, which covers all towns in the service area, bills to WellSense as well. Hospital networks move too. For 2026, Mercy Medical Center joined the Mass General Brigham ACO network and Baystate Medical Center left the Fallon Atrius network. Qualigenix reviews MassHealth's network bulletins each fall and updates payer rules before January claims go out.
Community Care Cooperative (C3) and Revere Health Choice are Primary Care ACOs that work with MassHealth directly. Revere Health Choice becomes Bookmark Care Network on January 1, 2027, and we update the plan name on your payer list that day. Claims for these members, and for PCC Plan members, go to MassHealth itself. MassHealth must receive them within 90 days of the date of service, and late claims deny with error code 296. Qualigenix tracks each one by date of service. The Tufts Health Together MCO ended on January 1, 2026, so we also flag old Tufts MCO IDs still sitting in patient records.
Resubmission limits, other-insurance timelines and the 90-day waiver process apply across the state. See how Qualigenix handles MassHealth claims statewide for the full rule set.
Original Medicare claims for Springfield go to National Government Services, the Medicare contractor for Jurisdiction K. When MassHealth pays second, Qualigenix sends the claim within 90 days of the Medicare payment notice. Dual-eligible patients often carry an integrated plan instead. For 2026, Hampden County has four One Care plans for members ages 21 to 64: Commonwealth Care Alliance One Care, Molina One Care, Tufts Health One Care and UnitedHealthcare One Care. It has five Senior Care Options plans for members 65 and older: Commonwealth Care Alliance SCO, Fallon Health NaviCare, Senior Whole Health SCO, Tufts Health Plan SCO and UnitedHealthcare SCO. These plans pay Medicare and MassHealth benefits together, so the claim goes to the plan, not to the Medicare contractor and MassHealth separately. Commercial claims go to each insurer under its own contract terms.
The figures below are company-wide results across Qualigenix client practices, not Springfield-only numbers. They show where a practice's billing tends to land once claims run through our process.

Qualigenix onboards a billing client in 6 days on average, with no change to your software.
We sign the BAA, assign a named onboarding owner and connect to your EHR or practice management system. We pull a current A/R snapshot so open claims stay tracked.
We confirm each payer enrollment, including MassHealth plan participation, with payer IDs and effective dates. Fee schedules and every service location get mapped.
Specialty-certified coders are matched to your specialty mix. Scrub edits are set for your highest-volume payers, often Health New England, WellSense and MassHealth.
Your clearinghouse, ERA and EFT enrollments route to Qualigenix. A test transaction confirms claims and payments flow before any real claim goes out.
The first batch is coded, scrubbed and checked against expected reimbursement. Any payer not yet effective goes on hold so nothing goes out early.
Claims go out daily, denials are appealed and payments posted. Your legacy A/R is worked in parallel so older balances keep coming in.
Specialty-certified coders, dedicated billers, native EHR operations across 133 platforms, defined monthly reporting, and rapid six-day onboarding.
Your claims are handled by specialty-certified coders and a dedicated billing team who know your codes, payers and visit types. They stay on your account, so you aren't re-explaining your practice every month.
Qualigenix works inside your current system across 133 EMR and EHR platforms. Your staff keeps the same software and workflow, and we take over the claim work from the moment a charge is entered.
Each month you get a report by payer, with every metric defined: clean-claim rate, denial rate, days to payment and A/R aging. You can see how BeHealthy, WellSense and Medicare claims each perform.
Onboarding takes 6 days on average, and legacy A/R is worked in parallel. Claims keep going out during the switch, so your practice doesn't lose a month of cash flow changing billing companies.
