Qualigenix medical billing services cover independent practices across Indianapolis and Marion County, from solo behavioral health offices to multi-provider primary care groups. Statewide rules, such as Indiana's prompt-pay deadlines and Traditional Medicaid filing exceptions, sit on our medical billing services in Indiana page. This page covers what changes for a Marion County practice: which Medicaid plans you'll bill, how each plan's filing clock runs, and where the 2026 plan changes cause denials. Qualigenix bills all payers. A dedicated biller is assigned to your account, sets up inside your existing EHR, and learns the IHCP and plan portals your claims pass through.
Qualigenix runs the full billing cycle for Indianapolis practices: eligibility checks, charge review, claim scrubbing, submission, payment posting, denial appeals and A/R follow-up. We bill Indiana Medicaid fee-for-service and every Medicaid managed care plan, Traditional Medicare through WPS, Medicare Advantage and commercial insurers.
Billers work inside your current EHR, and you pay a percentage of collections, so our fee moves with what your practice actually collects.
Qualigenix routes each Indiana Medicaid claim to the plan that covered the member on the date of service. Indiana runs Medicaid through four managed care programs plus Traditional Medicaid, and the managed care entities (MCEs) serve members statewide, so a single Marion County practice can bill five different plans in one week. Each plan sets its own filing and appeal rules.
The Healthy Indiana Plan covers adults 19 to 64, and Hoosier Healthwise covers children and pregnant members. On January 1, 2026, MDwise stopped serving both programs, which left Anthem, CareSource and Managed Health Services (MHS). Members kept their IHCP member ID but received a new plan card, so we check the assigned plan in the IHCP Eligibility Verification System before every visit instead of relying on the card on file. Contracted MCE claims generally must reach the plan within 90 calendar days of service, half the 180 days Traditional Medicaid allows. We set each claim's deadline by plan, not by one rule for all Medicaid.
Hoosier Care Connect covers members with disabilities through Anthem, MHS and UnitedHealthcare. Indiana PathWays for Aging covers members 60 and older through Anthem, Humana and UnitedHealthcare. Since January 2026, PathWays members who also have Medicare can join PathWays Dual Care, a fully integrated plan from the same three companies that carries Medicare and Medicaid benefits on one ID card. Before billing a dual-eligible patient, we confirm whether they're in PathWays Dual Care or in a separate Medicare plan, because the answer changes where the claim goes first.
Rules that apply across the state, including commercial prompt-pay timelines and Traditional Medicaid filing extensions for retroactive eligibility, are on our Indiana medical billing rules page.
Qualigenix bills Traditional Medicare for Indianapolis practices through Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS), the Jurisdiction 8 Medicare contractor for Indiana and Michigan. We file Part B claims to WPS, post its remittances and appeal its denials through the WPS redetermination process. Medicare Advantage claims go straight to each plan, including the three PathWays Dual Care plans that launched in January 2026. For commercial plans, Indiana requires insurers to pay or deny a clean electronic claim within 30 days and a paper claim within 45 days. An insurer that misses that window and later pays owes interest, and one that doesn't flag a claim defect within the same window must treat the claim as clean. We submit electronically, log each payer's received date and follow up on any clean claim still open after day 30.
These are company-wide results across Qualigenix client practices, not Indianapolis-only figures. Your monthly report defines each measure, so you can track the same number for your own practice from the first month.

Qualigenix transitions Indianapolis practices onto our billing team smoothly, with an average onboarding time of six days and legacy A/R worked in parallel.
We sign the BAA, name your onboarding owner, connect to your EHR without a software change and pull a snapshot of your current A/R.
We verify your IHCP, MCE, WPS and commercial enrollments, including payer IDs and effective dates, and map every service location.
Specialty-certified coders are matched to your specialties, and claim edits are set for your highest-volume Indiana payers.
We redirect clearinghouse, ERA and EFT enrollment, then send a test transaction before any live claim reaches a payer.
Your first batch is coded, scrubbed and checked against expected payment. Any payer not yet effective goes on hold until it is.
Claims go out daily, legacy A/R is worked in parallel, and your monthly reporting schedule and named contact are set.
Specialty-certified billing teams operating directly inside your existing EHR with transparent reporting and fast six-day onboarding.
Your claims go to specialty-certified coders and a dedicated biller who knows Indiana Medicaid plans, WPS Medicare and your payer mix. You talk to the same people each month, not a rotating queue.
Qualigenix has worked in 133 EMR and EHR platforms. We bill inside the system you already use, so your staff keeps its workflow and nobody retrains on new software.
Every monthly report shows collections, denials, A/R by age and payer, and the definition behind each number. You see exactly how each figure was calculated.
Onboarding takes six days on average. Legacy A/R is worked while new claims go out, so the switch doesn't open a gap in your cash flow.
Frequently asked questions regarding Marion County Medicaid plans, post-MDwise transitions, WPS Medicare Part B rules, and billing workflows in Indianapolis.
Qualigenix bills for independent practices across Indianapolis and Marion County, covering Indiana Medicaid, Medicare and commercial payers. When you compare companies, ask how each one tracks Medicaid plan filing limits, who works your denials and whether pricing is tied to collections. Talk to a billing specialist at 786-259-0231.
Yes. We bill Anthem, CareSource and MHS for HIP and Hoosier Healthwise, Anthem, MHS and UnitedHealthcare for Hoosier Care Connect, and Anthem, Humana and UnitedHealthcare for PathWays. Every claim is checked against the member's plan on the date of service before it goes out.
MDwise stopped serving HIP and Hoosier Healthwise members on January 1, 2026. Claims for 2026 dates of service go to the member's new plan, while MDwise still handles claims for earlier dates. We verify plan assignment at every visit and route each claim by its date of service.
We set a filing deadline for each claim based on its payer: 180 days for Traditional Medicaid and the shorter window in each plan contract, usually 90 days for in-network providers. Claims go out daily, and our team reviews anything close to its limit every week.
No. What matters is a team that knows Indiana Medicaid plans, WPS Medicare rules and Indiana's prompt-pay deadlines, and that works inside your EHR. Qualigenix bills in your existing system and reports results to you every month, so you can judge the work by the numbers.
Qualigenix charges a percentage of collections, so our fee rises only when your collections do. The percentage depends on your specialty, claim volume and payer mix, so we set it after reviewing your practice. A billing specialist can walk you through it on a short call.
Yes. We sign a business associate agreement before we access any patient data and follow HIPAA privacy and security rules on every account. You can ask your billing specialist for a copy of our BAA during your first call.
