Qualigenix credentials physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists and groups across Frederick and Frederick County. Qualigenix credentialing services assign one credentialing specialist to your account, who tracks every application and reports status by payer. Credentialing in Frederick means at least three separate tracks. Maryland Medicaid enrollment runs through ePREP. Each HealthChoice MCO then credentials the provider on its own. Medicare, D-SNPs and commercial carriers each have their own process too. A provider who is approved by Maryland Medicaid but not yet by the patient's MCO still can't be paid by that MCO. Qualigenix files these tracks in the right order and tells you which payers are approved before the provider's first visit. Statewide enrollment rules are on our credentialing services in Maryland page. This page covers what a Frederick provider needs.
Qualigenix handles credentialing for Frederick providers from data collection to approval: primary source verification, CAQH profile upkeep, payer applications, ePREP enrollment with Maryland Medicaid, PECOS enrollment with Medicare, follow-up and re-credentialing.
Pricing is $99 per payer application. Payers make the final decision; we submit, track and follow up until they do.
Medicaid patients in Frederick are mostly HealthChoice members, so a Frederick provider who wants Medicaid patients needs ePREP enrollment plus credentialing with the MCOs those patients use.
ePREP, Maryland Medicaid's electronic provider revalidation and enrollment portal, is where new enrollment, updates and revalidation happen. Every provider must revalidate at least every five years, and ePREP opens the revalidation only when it's due. HealthChoice MCOs check that both the billing and rendering NPIs are active in ePREP on the date of service. Qualigenix then credentials providers with the MCOs your Frederick patients use among the nine: Aetna Better Health of Maryland, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Community Health Plan Maryland, Jai Medical Systems, Kaiser Permanente, Maryland Physicians Care, MedStar Family Choice, Priority Partners, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan and Wellpoint Maryland.
Behavioral health providers who serve Medicaid members also need to be set up with Carelon Behavioral Health, Maryland's behavioral health ASO since January 1, 2025. Providers who were set up under Optum had to register with Carelon to keep getting paid. Qualigenix checks Carelon registration alongside ePREP for every Frederick behavioral health provider.
Maryland's commercial credentialing timelines apply statewide. Read about Maryland credentialing rules on the state page.
Medicare enrollment for Frederick providers is filed through PECOS and processed by Novitas Solutions, the Jurisdiction L contractor. Qualigenix files the application, tracks it with Novitas and handles benefit reassignment to your group. Medicare also asks most providers to revalidate every five years, on a schedule separate from Maryland Medicaid's, so we keep both dates on one tracker. When a provider joins a new Frederick group, we file the reassignment before the start date so the first Medicare claims aren't held. D-SNPs offered in Frederick County for 2026 include plans from UnitedHealthcare, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Kaiser Permanente and Alterwood Advantage. Each credentials providers separately from Original Medicare. A provider enrolled in Medicare isn't automatically in network with a D-SNP, so we apply to the plans your dual-eligible patients actually use. Maryland carriers must accept the state's uniform credentialing form and, within 30 days of a completed application, tell the provider whether they will keep processing it. In July 2026, Maryland's insurance commissioner provisionally designated DataSpring, the new name for CAQH, as that uniform form. From September 1, 2026, carriers must also accept directory updates sent through DataSpring. Licensure comes first. Qualigenix verifies each physician's license with the Maryland Board of Physicians and checks the matching board for nurse practitioners, therapists and counselors. License renewal dates go on our tracker, and the new license is uploaded to ePREP before the old one expires, since an outdated license in ePREP can trigger MCO claim denials.
These are company-wide figures across Qualigenix clients, not Frederick-only results. Payers make the final approval decision.

Qualigenix executes an eight-step onboarding process for Frederick practices, managing data intake through ongoing credential maintenance.
We gather NPI, Maryland license, DEA, board certification, CV, malpractice COI, W-9 and CAQH access to build a payer-ready profile.
Licenses, board certification, DEA, education and malpractice history are verified with the primary sources to NCQA and CMS standards.
We build or clean up the CAQH profile and re-attest every 90 days, ahead of the 120-day requirement.
Applications go to ePREP, PECOS, HealthChoice MCOs, D-SNPs and commercial payers, each tracked from submission.
For new practices, we review fee schedules, coordinate terms and confirm effective dates before billing starts.
Payers are checked weekly or biweekly, and delays are escalated with the payer.
We track re-credentialing, revalidation, license renewals and insurance expirations so nothing lapses.
You get status per payer, with submission dates, approval dates and contract effective dates.
