Qualigenix credentials Indianapolis providers with Indiana Medicaid in two steps: IHCP enrollment first, then credentialing with each managed care entity (MCE) the practice wants to join. A provider who isn't enrolled with IHCP can't be credentialed by any Indiana Medicaid plan.
Providers enroll through the IHCP Provider Healthcare Portal, then revalidate at least every five years, or every three years for DME and HME providers. Since September 30, 2026, linking a rendering provider who is already IHCP-enrolled to a group no longer needs the Rendering Provider Agreement and Attestation Form, which shortens that step. New rendering enrollments still need it, and we include it with every new application.
After IHCP enrollment, a separate IHCP MCE Practitioner Enrollment Form goes to each plan. For HIP and Hoosier Healthwise, that's Anthem, CareSource and Managed Health Services (MHS), since MDwise left both programs on January 1, 2026. Hoosier Care Connect uses Anthem, MHS and UnitedHealthcare, and PathWays for Aging uses Anthem, Humana and UnitedHealthcare. Practices that only held an MDwise contract need contracts with the remaining plans to keep seeing those members, and we check each provider's participation by plan.
IHCP's accelerated revalidation for high-risk and waiver providers, announced in June 2026, and Indiana's commercial credentialing deadlines are covered on our Indiana credentialing rules page.
Qualigenix enrolls Indianapolis providers in Medicare through PECOS with Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS), the Medicare contractor for Indiana and Michigan, and sets up their EFT and reassignment so payments reach the group. For commercial plans, Indiana requires insurers to use the CAQH credentialing application. An insurer must tell a provider about an error in an application within five business days, and the provider has five business days to respond. If the insurer doesn't decide on a clean application within 15 business days, it must provisionally credential the provider, and payment is retroactive to that date once the provider is fully credentialed and contracted. We log each submission date so those deadlines are on record.
These are company-wide results and standards across Qualigenix client practices, not Indianapolis-only figures. Payers make every final credentialing decision.
