Illinois practices bill a mixed book: traditional Medicaid through the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), Medicaid managed care through HealthChoice Illinois plans, Medicare Part B through National Government Services, and commercial plans led by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Each has its own filing window, its own claim format, and its own denial triggers. Qualigenix bills all of them. We don't carve out the hard payers or push them back to your front desk. Our billers are assigned by specialty, so a claim for a cardiology practice in Chicago and a claim for a family medicine group downstate each go out coded and scrubbed to that payer's rules. We cover practices statewide, from the Chicago metro through Springfield, Peoria, Rockford, and the southern counties. For the full-cycle view of this work, see our revenue cycle management hub.
Qualigenix handles the full billing cycle for Illinois practices: insurance verification, charge capture, coding review, claim scrubbing, submission, payment posting, denial appeals, and A/R recovery.
We work inside your existing EHR, bill all payers including Illinois Medicaid and its managed care plans, and report every metric monthly. See our medical billing hub.
Illinois has four billing rules that catch practices out more than any others. Here is how Qualigenix keeps each one from turning into lost revenue.
Illinois Medicaid expects most claims within 180 days of the date of service, and that window covers both the first submission and any resubmission after a rejection. Qualigenix tracks every HFS claim by date of service and files well inside the window, so a rejection early on still leaves room to correct and refile before the deadline closes.
Illinois law requires health plans to pay a clean claim within 30 days of receiving it, with interest owed at 9% a year on anything paid late. Qualigenix submits commercial claims clean the first time and works every plan to that 30-day clock, flagging any payer that lets a clean claim age past it. Aged claims go to AR recovery.
Medicare Part B claims for Illinois practices are processed by National Government Services, the A/B MAC for Jurisdiction 6. NGS publishes its own local coverage policies that decide which diagnoses support which procedures. Qualigenix codes and bills each Medicare claim to those NGS policies, which is where generic billing most often triggers a denial.
Illinois limits when a patient can be balance billed, especially for out-of-network care delivered at an in-network hospital or surgery center. Qualigenix applies in-network cost-sharing correctly and sends patient statements that match what the patient actually owes, so your front desk isn't fielding disputes. Posting and reconciliation runs through payment posting.

Your billing moves over in five structured steps without software migrations, staff retraining, or interruptions to ongoing claim submissions.
We hold a kickoff call, sign the BAA, and get access to your existing EHR. You don't change software.
We confirm your payer enrollments and set up your account so claims route correctly from day one.
A specialty coder is assigned to your account and payer-specific scrub rules are built for your plan mix.
We set up EDI, ERA, and EFT routing and run a test transaction to confirm claims and remittances flow.
We run a validation batch and pre-claim check, then go live, working your legacy A/R in parallel so nothing stalls.
Independent practices across Illinois partner with Qualigenix for consistent cash flow and high claim accuracy.
Qualigenix bills inside your existing system across 133 EHR platforms, so there's no migration and no new software to learn.
