Qualigenix handles credentialing for Houston practices adding a new provider, opening a new location or joining new payer networks. A provider who isn't enrolled can see patients, but their claims won't pay. Statewide rules, like Texas Medicaid revalidation and the state's standard credentialing form, are covered on our page for credentialing services in Texas. This page covers the Houston payer mix. Houston patients are spread across five STAR plans, three STAR+PLUS plans, three STAR Kids plans, Novitas for Original Medicare, Integrated D-SNPs and commercial carriers. Each network has its own enrollment step. Qualigenix maps which networks your patients use, then files each application in the order payers require. A new physician joining a Houston group, a nurse practitioner starting a second location and a practice moving to a new address each need a different set of filings, and we build the list before anything is submitted.
Qualigenix credentialing services cover Texas Medicaid enrollment, credentialing with the Harris service area Medicaid plans, Medicare enrollment, commercial payer credentialing, CAQH profile management and revalidation.
Pricing is $99 per payer application, covering full provider credentialing and payer enrollment.
Qualigenix enrolls Houston providers in Texas Medicaid and credentials them with the managed care plans in the Harris service area. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission's January 2026 table lists Community Health Choice, Molina, Texas Children's, United and Wellpoint for STAR and CHIP; Community Health Choice, Molina and United for STAR+PLUS; and Texas Children's, United and Wellpoint for STAR Kids.
Qualigenix starts every Medicaid file in PEMS, the Texas Medicaid Provider Enrollment and Management System. HHSC requires providers who want to contract with a Medicaid managed care plan to enroll through PEMS and then complete a separate contract and credentialing application with each plan. Enrollment doesn't stay done. Texas Medicaid providers must revalidate at least every five years, and HHSC recommends submitting at least 120 days before the enrollment period ends. Qualigenix tracks each provider's revalidation date and files early, because a lapsed enrollment stops Medicaid payments across every plan at once. Providers who miss the date have to file a new enrollment application instead of a revalidation, which restarts the work. New locations and new group members get their own PEMS updates before any plan application goes out.
Texas Medicaid plans don't each run their own verification. All of them credential through one verification organization managed by the Texas Association of Health Plans, which performs primary source verification and sends results to each plan. The plan's committee then decides, and the plan must finish credentialing and load the provider as in-network within 90 days of a complete application. Qualigenix requests credentialing with each Harris plan your practice needs, answers verification requests quickly and keeps the file complete, including CAQH attestations and malpractice updates, since the 90-day clock only starts once the application is whole. Recredentialing happens every three years, and its due date follows the earliest plan date.
Every Texas credentialing file starts with a verified state license, such as one issued by the Texas Medical Board for physicians. Qualigenix confirms license, DEA and board certification details before any application goes out. For the full set of statewide rules, see how Qualigenix handles credentialing across Texas.

Texas practices pick Qualigenix for credentialing for four reasons.
Credentialing costs $99 per payer application, covering full provider credentialing and payer enrollment. You pay only for the networks you join, with no charge for networks you skip.
Every application has a logged submission date and a follow-up schedule. When a payer asks for a missing document, we answer it, so the file doesn't stall waiting on your staff.
PEMS, PECOS and plan recredentialing dates are tracked for every provider, and renewals are filed ahead of time so enrollment doesn't lapse and claims keep paying.
Qualigenix also runs medical billing, so the team that enrolls your provider knows the date claims can start paying and holds earlier claims until then.

No. What matters is that your credentialing team knows PEMS, Harris County's Medicaid plans, PECOS and the Texas standard application. Qualigenix files with all of them, answers payer requests and reports status by payer. Talk to a credentialing specialist to see how it works.
